Project example: NorthBridge, Ermine Street, Huntingdon

This development proposal for 1057 houses on the NorthBridge site, located at the A14 Spittals Interchange, has been won on appeal, with Wormald Burrows Partnership Ltd acting as expert witness for Persimmon Homes on matters of highways, drainage, flood risk and servicing.

The Highways Agency requirement that the development should achieve a condition of 'Nil Detriment', whereby there should be no increase in traffic on the A14 and at Spittals Interchange, has been achieved.

Associated with the development proposals are a number of off-site highways improvements and sustainable transport links and proposals, with junction priority changes at the Huntingdon Inner Ring Road.

A full sustainable drainage design has been agreed with the Environment Agency and Alconbury & Ellington IDB (Internal Drainage Board), to provide environmental enhancements for flora and fauna, in addition to providing a greater degree of protection to Huntingdon from high intensity storms.
